I’m finally back on English soil and you know what? It’s not that bad. Sure my morning view isn’t a patch on the one I was waking up to on holiday and the temperatures aren’t anywhere near as impressive but I’m actually enjoying getting back into the swing of things and doing general life admin – I can’t tell you how ready I am to move into our new house and start interior planning so I’m keeping everything crossed that September is the month. January aside I’ve always viewed September as a month of new beginnings (and pencil cases) so here’s to hoping.

Days before we flew to Italy Sadie and I had an unplanned but very welcome shopping trip to Leeds, it’s amazing what you can achieve when your toddler actually wakes up early! The reasoning behind our jaunt was two fold – take advantage of Neoms gift with purchase promo and to head into & Other Stories to look at/buy the items featured in my September wardrobe post.¬†Unsurprisingly Neom hit it out of the park with both their product and customer service but sadly & Other Stories had none of the items I’d seen online although they did have these starry print culottes which obviously came home with me, I don’t think I’ve ever left that shop empty handed. Culottes are one of those effortless wardrobe pieces that make you feel super chic even if you’re just wearing them casually like I am here, that said these certainly aren’t the reserve of dressed down days – these would work beautifully with a smarter top and heels or even with a cropped knit. As you’ll probably know I’m trying to be more considered when it comes to adding pieces to my wardrobe and I know these culottes are a good shout, even if you have to watch how you stand in them! For a relaxed family day I went with an embroidered white tee, a little too boxy for my liking so not exactly perfect but it just about works tied up and then all of the textures. Tactile fabrics have always been my jam so you can imagine my joy at combining a suede biker with pink velvet mules – a more recent purchase which make my heart sing whenever I wear them.

Bank holiday weekends are always an incredibly chilled affair in the Wild household so with few plans set in stone and lots of lovely news from friends already giving me the feels I’m hoping to top things off with a Sunday roast and a countryside walk.

I hope you’re all having the best extended weekend and welcome your thoughts on my ensemble.
