Summer is officially here and with us Brits in disbelief at everything going on in the news right now it’s lightness and a little frivollity that we need a healthy dose of so here’s a fashion mind clear of the pieces, looks and most importantly the colour palette that I’m drawn to more than I care to admit. When it comes to Summer time, heck all year round dressing blue and white are staples in my wardrobes but what freshens things up for sunny ice cream filled days is the introduction of pink and red – two colours which along with yellow are having the time of their life for Summer 2017, maybe we ought to get them a slogan tee in celebration? For my wardrobe I’m craving pale pink denim teamed with mules, flirty red midi skirts that’d give the Flamenco emoticon a run for its money and of course floaty white dresses because it wouldn’t be Summer without them. The White Company have the most perfect white dress in store and while it doesn’t look much in the photo (top left, second row) I can promise you it’s way better looking in real life, why oh why didn’t I try it on? Right now I’m having the faddiest shoe season known to man and after countless tries I still can’t get the Next pom pom laden Babouche shoes from my mind – I blame Cara and Alex for making them look so unbelievably effortless with the simplest of outfits. Of course with any British Summer wardrobe you’d be a fool not to think about knitwear so I’m including the obvious – a striped number from firm favourite Hush and a mixer upper because game changer is just a little bit strong – say hola to the sleeveless knitted tank from Warehouse which is so Lucy Williams it hurts. I can envisage it looking fly tucked into pleated midis and over straight legged jeans alike, I need it.
Which pieces are you itching to style this Summer?
