There Is A Light That Never Goes Out

Studded Sleeve Coat & Tartan Scarf: Zara
Alexa Bag: Mulberry
Denim Dress & Studded Boots: Topshop
Cosy Tights: Primark

Happy Sunday guys! I can't believe how quickly Sunday afternoon comes around, why can't weekends be three days long? I feel like today is the calm before the storm, on Tuesday I'm heading off to Spain on a business trip for a couple of days and I'm working tomorrow so I have lots to do in a seriously short space of time. Most importantly I need to paint my nails with the beautiful freckle shade from Illamasqua, if you haven't seen these floating around the bloggersphere then check out Anna's post - as soon as I saw her sporting this shade I had to take the £14 plunge, she really is the ultimate enabler!

Today's pictures were taken yesterday on an impromptu trip to Bakewell - I love how you can drive for just half an hour from Sheffield and find yourself in picturesque Derbyshire. My snaps were taken outside the cricket pavillion just as the sun was setting, don't I just paint a pretty mental image? In all honesty it involved a lot of pictures of me squinting! For our mooch around Bakewell I decided to give my new denim dress an outing from Topshop and threw on my faithful tartan scarf to ward off the chill. Finally I added a pair of cosy tights (you seriously need these in your underwear drawer), my studded boots and my never-go-anywhere-without Alexa bag. The finishing touch was my navy studded sleeve Zara coat which managed to keep me at a reasonable temperature, that is until the wind blew. Both the boy and I made that age old mistake of seeing sunshine outside and putting one less layer on, fools!

Our short afternoon trip was fairly successful, I managed to find the 107 Rimmel Kate Moss matt lipstick in the Bakewell Boots while the boy found himself a bargainous new outdoor coat for £19.99, reduced from £69.99! No trip to Bakewell would be complete without a stop in the Thorntons cafe for THE best hot chocolate around. While we were devouring what can only be described as liquid chocolate I noticed a petition against Costa coming to Bakewell - now I love Costa as much as the next girl but why oh why do they need to come to such small tourist spots like Bakewell where it's all about the independents? Except Boots of course!

I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday afternoons, I'm looking forward to spending an afternoon with some of my closest friends to celebrate another 25th birthday (I'm the only one who's still 24 out of the group), all that's left to say is bring on the Mexican food! Don't forget to check out my Neom candle giveaway, only six more days left to enter....

What did you wear this weekend? Did you make the same mistake as us and not put enough layers on?

  3. Great outfit :) I see you'be worn the denim dress you featured a few days ago :)

Yep, I put on less layers today and the wind got to me. I was thinking it was like all the other sunny days of last week which were nearly windless. Walking around the El Rastro was pretty hard today :( El Rastro happens every Sunday in Madrid where you can go and buy whatever you want for a really good price :)
