Topshop & ASOS Haul

It's been just over two weeks since I last brought you a haul post, my last one was full to the brim with sales finds so I thought it was about time I showed you some dresses (yes they're all dresses) I picked up over my last few on-line shops - in my defence I did have a £50 Topshop gift card from Christmas to use, not that I need any encouragement. If you're anything like me you'll place a whopping amount of on-line orders only to find you don't love pieces on and have to send them back - I swear people at my work think I'm rolling in money with the amount of parcels that arrive for me! These are however, the pieces that received the Cagney & Lace seal of approval.

I have a real love/hate relationship with Topshop - sometimes I go in and love absolutely everything and wonder how far my clothing budget will stretch yet other times I find a lot of the clothes to be quite young (I'm nearly twenty five but let's not speak about that). At the moment I'm in a love phase and chose this Mix and Match Shift Dress. Now anyone who knows me well knows how much I love a bit of pattern so combining three together is my idea of clothing heaven. At five foot eight I sometimes find Topshop dresses a little bum skimming but this is THE ideal length. I can't wait to wear this for my friends fast approaching birthday with black opaques and shoe boots, this would look equally as chic though with a chunky knit thrown over the top and a floppy hat, like this one for a weekend shopping trip.

My second Topshop find was this Contrast Sleeve Dress, now I'll level with you, I've been lusting after this for what feels like forever after spotting it on the lovely Lily last year. I tried it on back then but it was only available in standard sizing so it was just far too short - back to the present day and a quick browse in the tall area of the Topshop website and it was there, hooray! I ordered it in a flash and wasn't disappointed. Now usually something like this wouldn't work for my curvy shape but surprisingly it does - as you can probably tell from the picture it's quite loose fitting so it's perfect for a chilled out weekend look. I'll be wearing it now with tights and my favourite studded boots and in the Summer with cute flats and bare legs.

My final pick was this Textured Fit & Flare dress from ASOS which has a real Chanel vibe going on, even though the material is cotton it feels and looks like boucle. My recurring problem with ASOS is that the clothing looks so much better on the models than they ever does in real life but this cutie shocked me. It's a little more demure and lady like than my usual attire but it's super flattering on my hour glass shape with a nipped in waist, skater style skirt and 3/4 length sleeves. I'm off to Spain next week on a business trip with work which usually involves long days and outfits that need to work from day to night so this will be the perfect number to take with me (I can only take hand luggage too guys.....and breathe!) I'm thinking of wearing this with grey cable knit tights but then I have no idea on footwear. I better get my fashion thinking cap firmly on....

Which dress is your favourite from my recent spree? I'm all ears on styling suggestions for the ASOS number too. Oh and if you haven't seen my Neom candle giveaway where have you been? Check it our here.

  1. Good choices, Han! I've been looking at that denim number for a while, too. From the fit, do you think it would be worth going for a small sizer/the petite version for those of us who aren't overly blessed in the clevage department? I like unfitted, smocks but worried with the material it'll look like a sack! L x

    1. Thanks Lauren! For you my dear I would definitely go for the petite version, it will seriously swamp you even in a smaller size. I sized down in tall so I definitely would consider it, it certainly won't look sack-ish x

  6. My favourite thing you bought was the last one, the ASOS dress. Looks classy - I agree that it has that designer vibe.
I personally really hate Topshop - I think it's terribly overrated, and there are just soooo many people on the streets who look like they're wearing the entire contents of a Topshop catalogue. Booooooring.

  18. Then I would definitely recommend the North of Spain! :) I love the North as my bf´s mom is from San Sebastian and we go more than a few times a year. Summer is the best time to go as it will not be raining as much!

You will find amazing food, lots of clothing shops you won´t find in other cities, and of course the famous Spanish brands. The beaches are going to be packed but not over crowded. I have never been to Marbella (or to the South of Spain in general). If not San Sebastian I would recommend any part of Asturias (Llanes, Gijon etc :) and last but not least Galicia!

If you want me to rant more about these places do let me know. Check out the places I mentioned, I am sure you will be pleased.

Btw, in a little town in San Sebastian called Getaria there is a Balenciaga Museum. Very new, modern and I´ve been there once and it was worth it.
